Lunch & Learn: Introduce Cross Country Skiing to your Community | December 16 at 12 Noon

The South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District, in partnership with the South West District for Culture, Recreation & Sport, is thrilled to offer a Lunch & Learn presentation featuring Alana Ottenbreit from Cross Country Saskatchewan (CCS)! CCS is the Provincial Sport Organization for cross-country skiing in Saskatchewan and is a key part of the Saskatchewan Ski Association, which also oversees Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Skiing for Disabled, Snowboarding, and Freestyle Skiing.

In this informative session, Alana will highlight the benefits of introducing cross-country skiing to your community. She will walk you through the process of developing a local ski club, and offer valuable strategies for promoting and activating cross-country skiing in your area. Additionally, Alana will discuss coach training, trails, insurance, and the support available to clubs. She will also share details about the upcoming 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games in Meadow Lake and provide information on how youth can get involved and try out for the event in February 2026.
